The elements form a bus system consisting of sensors and actuators which use the in-house power lines as a communication bus. uses LON, the world's leading device networking technology from Echelon. The communication between the elements is confined to the CENELEC C-Band and/or the B-band and the system is compliant with the CENELEC EN50065-1 standards.

actuators execute event dependent actions. They switch or regulate lamps, motors or any generic device to which they are connected. Events are either control commands from sensors or the attainment of a specific state in the connected hardware. Any actuator can be combined with any sensor.
