The elements form a bus system consisting of sensors and actuators which use the in-house power lines as a communication bus. uses LON, the world's leading device networking technology from Echelon. The communication between the elements is confined to the CENELEC C-Band and/or the B-band and the system is compliant with the CENELEC EN50065-1 standards.

sensors send commands to the actuators and when required receive acknowledgements from these actuators. Any sensor can be combined with any actuator. The sensors can be combined with all commercially available flush-mounted switches.
